have been eating a lot of sweet treats lately.
first, decided to bake an apple pie with Claudia Ang on one of the days. i made her stop studying for ONCE. i tell you that girl is a nerd.
i did the filling and Claudia Ang did the pastry. it was hard working peeling apples. my wrist was about to break off when i finished. haha.
Claudia Ang took a million yrs to make the pastry for the top of the pie.
but finally, we put it into the oven.

yum yum. haha. not that i'm praising myself ok.
i was super fascinated at the cubes of sugar in a silver pot on the table. it's damn cool to pick it up with the tiny little tongs! and there are even brown sugar cubes! stop laughing ok i know i sound like a noob.

baking.
and when it came out...
my slice with Hokey Pokey ice cream. :D and to be honest it really tasted not bad!
and on Friday, went for chocolate buffet at the Fullerton Hotel with Oei Oei.
their coasters.
ok after playing with the sugar [mostly me], we went to stuff ourselves silly with chocolate. after all it is a buffet right.
1st round:
left to right: chocolate mousse [i think] with pineapple [and cruncy bronze edible balls on top, damn nice], lychee tiramisu, vanilla chocolate creme brulee and the Fullerton chocolate cake.
white chocolate soup!!!! with some sort of alcohol in it. yummiest soup ever.
everything on that plate was nice. the Fullerton chocolate cake is super thick with chocolate. and the sponge fingers in the lychee tiramisu was soaked in lychee juice instead of the usual coffee/rum, and there were even generous bits of real lychee in it. really very nice.
and there was even..
after the 1st round already felt full with chocolate. had to rest for half an hr before going for 2nd round:
left to right: 1st 2 cakes are French pastries--which were not very nice, probably the only not delicious ones in the whole buffet--chocolate and coconut with sago, strawberry melba, chocolate tart with delicate gold flakes of chocolate on top, banana chocolate pie, and chocolate cinammon crunch.
and to top it off,
hot chocolate with 72% chocolate in it. there were different rankings of hot chocolate you could choose frm, and of course i chose the highest ranking. haha! it was thick with chocolate but it wasnt too sweet or bitter.
this time had to rest for like 1 hr before going for 3rd round:
was too full to eat anything else, so went for the chocolate fondue fountain last. marshmallows, a extra big and long biscuit stick, some puff thingy, and fruits.
since i was filled to the brim with chocolate i decided to be scholarly and admired the big plant outside the dimsum restaurant opposite our table. note the contrast between the big majestic plant and its delicate leaves, with the small rose centrepiece on the table. what a load of crap i am typing. :s
the seats there were really very comfortable, can sleep there if they would allow it. it dawned upon me that this was a good place after a big breakup. it's comfortable and dim so ppl cannot really see if you are crying. and isnt it a scientific fact that chocolate helps your body to release endorphins, hence making you feel happier? haha.
am gonna stay off chocolate for 2 weeks now after that buffet. haha!
oh yes. have also reactivated my facebook account at long last, after much nagging frm everyone else. Word Challenge is fun! :D
